Butler (Matthews, N.C.) extended its winning streak to seven games with a 49-0 victory over Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, N.C.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Josh Glisson in the first quarter, the Bulldogs led 35-0 at the half.
Butler expanded its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown pass by
Anthony Ratliff to
Uriah Lemay.
The Matthews school's standout player in the win was
Zach Gross. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown.
The Bulldogs went into the matchup giving up only 5.2 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 43-40 win for Butler.
Ardrey Kell (4-3) will play a 4A Southwestern game against East Mecklenburg next week, while Butler (7-0) will take on Providence also in a 4A Southwestern game.
