Goose Creek (S.C.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 21 points, drop to 10 before the final whistle blew on a 35-25 victory over
Bluffton (S.C.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Rico Blanding in the first quarter, the Gators led 28-13 at the half.
Goose Creek saw its 15-point halftime lead fall to nine entering the fourth.
Blanding stood out for GC in the win. The senior ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
C.J. Frazier made a difference for the Bobcats. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Led by
Shameik Blackshear, Bluffton came in allowing just 12.0 points per game this season. BHS struggled against the Gators, which came in averaging 43.3 points per game.
