For another day, Texas football rules.
At least in its rivalry with Oklahoma.

The Texas kids rolled over Oklahoma powers Saturday in the two games of the Southwest Showcase at Pennington Field in Bedford, Texas.
In the final game,
Trinity (Euless, Texas) pulled out a tough 21-18 win over
Union (Tulsa, Okla.), while
DeSoto (Texas) rolled
Jenks (Okla.) 46-27 in the first game.
In the Trinity game,
Matt Hawkins opened the scoring with a 23-yard touchdown run, before Union tied it up on an 11-yard rushing score from
Austin Barnes.
Trinity went out in front 14-7 just before halftime on a 22-yard touchdown run by
Kenneth Gonzales. Union responded with a nice scoring drive, capped with a field goal by
Austin Butler.
Trinity, coming off a tough overtime loss on the road at nationally ranked Bellevue (Washington), took control on its third rushing touchdown from a different player – this was
Homer Babcock on a 2-yard run with five minutes to go. That put Trinity up 21-10.

Union never stopped fighting and
Hunter Atyia completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to
Chris Hall with less than three minutes left, followed by a 2-point conversion pass from Atyia to
Carson Meier, making it 21-18.
But Trinity was able to run out the clock from there to earn the hard-earned victory.
Union, winner of four straight Oklahoma 6A state titles, was coming off an emotional 14-7 win over state rival Jenks last week.
Atyia threw for 1,668 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2011 and among his favorite targets are Tulsa commits Hall and
Khalid Kornegay.
Dalton Rodriguez (6-foot-6, 255 pounds), an Oklahoma commit and defensive end, and
Blake Mejia, an offensive lineman, are other college players for Union.
DeSoto 46, Jenks 27Dontre Wilson rushed 22 times for 132 yards and two scores and
Nick Orr blocked two punts and added an interception and a touchdown as DeSoto defeated Jenks 46-26 in the first game of the Southwest Showcase at Pennington Field.

Brandon McDowell added three catches for 92 yards and a touchdown from quarterback
Desmon White (181 yards passing) for the winners, who now get Trinity at Kincaid Stadium next Saturday.
DeSoto (2-0) scored the last 22 points of the game, this after opening the season with a 37-14 win over Martin. In that game, White and Wilson, an Oregon commit, combined for 441 yards and all five DeSoto touchdowns.
Jenks (0-2) was in Saturday's game until star tailback
Trey'Vonne Barr'e was injured some time in the third quarter. He didn't return. To that point he had rushed 12 times for 60 yards and three touchdowns, according to the Tulsa World.
This is Jenks' first 0-2 start since 1986. It has won 12 state championships and was led by wide receiver
Jordan Smallwood (50 catches, 10 touchdowns last season), Barr'e and quarterback
Kyle Alexander. Linebacker
Trent Taber is another college prospect.
