The
Crusaders got a huge boost in the offseason, as one of the best players
in the state headed their way.
Kaila Charles, who put up an absurd line
of 28 points, 18 rebounds and seven blocks in the 4A title game for
Eleanor Roosevelt last season, will join Caldwell at Riverdale Baptist
this season. Added to an already talented roster, Charles makes the
Crusaders the team to beat in Maryland.

The Knights took home the program's first state title last year, beating defending champion Southern-Garrett in the 1A final, 54-38. Washington will return all-state forward
Tyasia Moore as they search for a second-straight crown.

3. Roland Park Country (Baltimore)Head coach: Scott Buckley
2014-15 record: 21-5
The
Reds are a power in the IAAM A Conference, and lost in overtime to McDonogh in the title game last season. Buckley's squad lost some seniors, but will be
ready to compete for the A Conference crown once again this season with
guards
Jaia Alexander and
Ryan Holder back in the fold.

The
Millers pulled out a close victory over Urbana, 74-70, to win a second-straight Class 3A title last season. McAliley loses all-state senior
Dionna White, but will have plenty of young players ready to step in and
lead the charge for a three-peat.

Octavia Wilson, who scored 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in last year's championship game.
