Bellevue (Wash.) received four rushing touchdowns from senior quarterback
Tyler Hasty to knock off previously-unbeaten
Lakes (Lakewood, Wash.) 35-14 in 3A playoff action on Friday night.
Hasty, son of former NFL corner back James Hasty, executed Bellevue's offense efficiently, rushing for 117 yards on 13 carries. His first two touchdowns, the second of which came with four minutes remaining in the first quarter, gave Bellevue an early lead it would never relinquish.
Levonte Littlejohn ripped off a 14-yard rushing touchdown for Lakes to make the score 14-7 with five minutes to play before halftime.
However, Hasty responded, marching Bellevue's offense down the field and finishing the drive with a 6-yard score to give Bellevue a 21-7 lead.
Hasty's fourth touchdown five minutes into the third quarter made it 28-7.
Littlejohn answered minutes later with a 3-yard touchdown, trimming Bellevue's lead to 28-14, but Lakes would get no closer.
Andy Boulware tacked on insurance with a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth to help Bellevue hold off Lakes for the second consecutive season.
With the win, Bellevue (11-0) advances in the 3A playoffs to take on the winner of Kennewick versus Kamiakin.
