The unexpected development ends a tumultuous recruitment that involved at least six other schools believed to be a leader at some point and signing with Georgia during the early period but never publicly announcing it.
247Sports has Evans pegged as the No. 2 running back nationally in the Class of 2020 and the top prospect from Texas.
Evans rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 29 touchdowns that season, averaging better than 10 yards per carry. North Shore became the first team from Texas to finish the year ranked No. 1 nationally since Katy did in 2015.
Despite missing some time during his senior season he was still a second team selection on the
MaxPreps All-American Team. He ended his high school career with nearly 5,000 yards rushing and 76 touchdowns.
Evans is the first 5-star prospect to sign with TCU. The Horned Frogs improved to No. 23 in the 247Sports class rankings and No. 3 in the Big 12 Conference.
