St. Edward ascends to No. 1 with Colerain's loss — moving Moeller to No. 2 — and there are four new top 25 members.

1. (Last week 2) St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio) 11-1
The Eagles soared past previously unbeaten and 13th-ranked Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown) 28-0 during the Division I state quarterfinals. Despite 21-degree weather, Brett Kean completed 11 of 25 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns and the defense yielded just 146 yards.

2. (5) Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) 12-1
The defending champs won their biggest game of the year thus far by handing previously unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Colerain (Cincinnati) a 35-26 defeat in the Division I state quarterfinals before a standing-room-only crowd. Gus Ragland overcame frigid weather by running 29 times for 204 yards and four touchdowns.

3. (4) Brother Rice (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) 13-0
The Warriors handed King (Detroit) its second loss 43-20 during the Division II state semifinals as Alex Malzone completed 11 of 21 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns. Brian Walker ran 16 times for 97 yards and four touchdowns.

4. (1) Colerain (Cincinnati) 12-1, season complete
The previously undefeated and No. 1-ranked Cardinals were eliminated by Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati) 35-26 during the Division I state quarterfinals. Kelvin Cook ran 19 times for 131 yards and passed for 134 yards. DeTuan Smith ran for 130 yards on 10 carries and scored three times. 

5. (6) Montini (Lombard, Ill.) 13-0
The Broncos dealt Sycamore its first loss, 42-20 in the Class 5A state semifinals as Alex Wills passed for three touchdowns and ran for two others. Dylan Thompson and Anthony Ferraro both made two sacks.

6. (7) Blue Springs (Mo.) 13-0
The Wildcats ousted Eureka 42-14 during the Class 6 state semifinals behind the passing of Ian Brown, who amassed 293 yards and five touchdowns. Darrius Shepherd had 121 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

7. (8) Eden Prairie (Minn.) 11-0

8. (9) Mount Carmel (Chicago) 12-1
The Caravan rolled past previously unbeaten and 18th-ranked Edwardsville 34-7 as Matt Domer carried 22 times for 176 yards and three touchdowns.

9. (10) Loyola Academy (Wilmette, Ill.) 12-1
The Ramblers nipped Stevenson (Lincolnshire) 15-14 during the Class 8A state semifinals. Jack Penn fired a 15-yard touchdown pass to Joe Joyce with 1:03 left and the same combination clicked on a two-point conversion pass for the big victory.

*10. (12) Dowling (West Des Moines, Iowa) 14-0, season complete
The Maroons routed Xavier (Cedar Falls) 44-13 to win the Class 4A state championship. Junior Ryan Boyle dominated by completing 12 of 14 passes for 283 yards and two touchdowns, while running for 82 yards and four touchdowns.

11. (14) St. Vincent-St. Mary (Akron, Ohio) 13-0
The Fighting Irish handed Hubbard its first loss, 40-7, in the Division III state quarterfinals. Ohio State University recruit Parris Campbell sparked their 19th consecutive victory by running 19 times for 200 yards and three touchdowns.

12. (16) Hilliard Davidson (Hilliard, Ohio) 13-0
The Wildcats handed Wayne (Huber Heights) its second loss 37-7 during the Division I state quarterfinals. D.D. Clark led the way with 27 carries for 126 yards and one touchdown.

*13. (15) Kimberly (Wis.) 14-0, season complete
The Papermakers routed previously unbeaten Oshkosh North 51-10 to win the Division II state championship. Scott Schreiber, a University of Nebraska baseball signee, did it all by running 12 times for 100 yards and four touchdowns, while completing 9 of 12 passes for 154 yards and one score.

14. (3) Cass Tech (Detroit) 12-1, season complete
The Technicians were shocked by Detroit Catholic Central (Novi) 28-0 — ending an 18-game winning streak — during the Division I state semifinals.

15. (17) Lake Zurich (Ill.) 12-1
The Bears ended an 11-game winning streak for the defending state champs with a 16-7 victory over then No. 11-ranked Glenbard West (Glen Ellyn) in the Class 7A state semifinals. Noah Allgood set the pace by passing for 134 yards and rushing for another 42 yards, including one score.

16. (NR) Catholic Central (Novi, Mich.) 11-2
The Shamrocks stunned previously unbeaten and No. 3-ranked Cass Tech (Detroit) 28-0 in the Division I state semifinals. Cass Tech had beaten them the previous two years in the state championship game. The 14-degree wind chill didn't bother Dylan Roney, who ran for three touchdowns, or junior Jordan Jenkins, who made nine tackles.

17. (NR) Loveland (Ohio) 13-0
The Tigers exploded for 21 points in the final 5:14 to defeat Mt. Healthy (Cincinnati) 35-28 during the Division II state quarterfinals. Linebacker Mike Weber scored the winning touchdown when he returned a fumble 81 yards. Sophomore Drew Plitt passed for 156 yards and freshman Luke Waddell ran for 122 yards.

18. (NR) St. Rita (Chicago) 11-2
The Mustangs forced four turnovers to defeat Fenwick (Oak Park) 35-10 and win the Catholic League crown. Tommy Mister supplied the offense with 15 carries for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

*19. (19) Lincoln (Sioux Falls, S.D.) 11-0, season complete
Class AAA state champion.

20. (NR) Batavia (Ill.) 12-1
The Bulldogs defeated previously unbeaten and 20th-ranked Boylan (Rockford) 38-6 in the Class 6A state semifinals for their 11th consecutive victory. Workhorse Anthony Scaccia (5-7, 157) carried 41 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, while Micah Coffey passed for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

21. (21) Omaha North (Omaha, Neb.) 11-1, season complete

*22. (22) Arrowhead (Hartland, Wis.) 13-1, season complete
The Warhawks handed Franklin its second loss, 45-24, to notch their second consecutive and sixth overall Division I state championship. Jake Miller made 11 catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while sophomore Johnny Duranso passed for 235 yards. The Warhawks won their last 12 games.

23. (23) Carmel (Ind.) 10-3

Next: Saturday vs. Warren Central (Indianapolis) for the Class 6A state title at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis

24. (24) Derby (Kan.) 11-1
The Panthers' winning streak reached 11 with a 55-17 rout of Garden City during the Class 6A state semifinals. Jeremy Dunham ran 10 times for 103 yards and two touchdowns and also completed 6 of 7 passes for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Tyler West ran 14 times for 157 yards and three scores.

*25. (25) Fargo South (N.D.) 9-3, season complete
Class AAA state champion.
