After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Morton, the Nanih Waiya Warriors were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They snuck past Lamar with a 46-40 victory.
Lamar's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Salone Elliott, who scored 12 points. Cooper Gordy was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Nanih Waiya is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Lamar, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Nanih Waiya will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McAdams at 7:00 p.m. McAdams presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Nanih Waiya in Mississippi (McAdams is ranked 97th, while Nanih Waiya is ranked 209th). Lamar won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Victory Christian at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th.
