Even though St. Anne Catholic has not done well against Walnut Grove Christian recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. Anne Catholic snuck past Walnut Grove Christian with a 48-43 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for St. Anne Catholic.
St. Anne Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack J. out in front who scored 12 points. Lawson L was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Providence Classical was able to grind out a solid win over Non Varsity Opponent on Thursday, taking the game 40-29. The win was just what Providence Classical needed coming off of a 71-25 loss in their prior game.
Providence Classical relied on the efforts of Xan Rahalawicz , who scored 12 points, and Isaac Martin, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rahalawicz has scored at least 25% of Providence Classical's points. Another player making a difference was Bryson Lahr, who scored 4 points along with 8 rebounds.
St. Anne Catholic's victory bumped their season record to 2-0 while Walnut Grove Christian's defeat dropped theirs to 0-4.
St. Anne Catholic ended up a good deal behind Providence Classical when the teams last played back in January, losing 40-22. Can St. Anne Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
