Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Lincoln's Winning Streak

Lincoln lost against Washington back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Lincoln had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-21, 13-25, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Hannah Baron and Elsa Basel, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Mallory Schneider and her 19 assists. Julia Blom controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Washington was led to victory by Ivy Freesemann and Dana Harpe. Freesemann had 11 digs and three aces, while Harpe had seven kills, six digs, two aces, and one block. Freesemann is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Lincoln's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Washington, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Lincoln will square off against rival Brandon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Washington is set to face off against their familiar foe Yankton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
