The Miamisburg Vikings will head out to challenge the Watkins Memorial Warriors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Miamisburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Miamisburg not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2024. They put the hurt on Beavercreek with a sharp 11-1 win.
Ryla Zering was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Mikaela Holp was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katie Enneking, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Miamisburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beavercreek only posted a batting average of .125.
Meanwhile, Watkins Memorial posted their closest victory since April 29, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Mt. Vernon 5-4. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kendal Tellings spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kyliee Trouten, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Miamisburg pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Watkins Memorial, their record now sits at 6-2.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miamisburg hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Watkins Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miamisburg skirted past Watkins Memorial 9-8 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
