Despite the loss, Amelia Academy had strong showings from Isabella Arbitelle, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Macy Barnard, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 62.5% of Amelia Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Southampton Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot by a score of 35-28. That looming 35-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Southampton Academy yet this season.
Amelia Academy bumped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Southampton Academy, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Amelia Academy lost to Southampton Academy on the road by a decisive 40-23 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Amelia Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
