The Tallassee Tigers lost against the Bullock County Hornets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tallassee fell 59-48 to Bullock County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tallassee in their matchups with Bullock County: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Tallassee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rowen Thornton . Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Thornton scored a full 50% of Tallassee's points, the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bullock County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jedarian Robbins, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. Trevone Palmer was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Tallassee now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Bullock County, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Tallassee will head out on the road to face off against LaFayette at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. LaFayette presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tallassee in Alabama (LaFayette is ranked 120th, while Tallassee is ranked 300th). As for Bullock County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m. Booker T. Washington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.6 points per game.
