Memphis University is 7-2 against Briarcrest Christian since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Memphis University Owls will be playing at home against the Briarcrest Christian Saints at 7:00 p.m. Memphis University will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Memphis University put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oakhaven 42-0 at home. Memphis University's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Memphis University relied on the efforts of Brady Hughes, who rushed for 42 yards and two touchdowns, and Tyler Perry, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Briarcrest Christian were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 21-12 to Ensworth. While losing is never fun, Briarcrest Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Ensworth is ranked 16th).
Briarcrest Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Josiah (JoJo) Saleem, who rushed for 46 yards and two touchdowns, and Cade Carlson who threw for 130 yards on 14 of 24 attempts.
Memphis University's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Briarcrest Christian, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Memphis University came out on top in a nail-biter against Briarcrest Christian in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, sneaking past 19-17.
