Capital suffered their biggest defeat since January 2nd on Wednesday. They suffered a rough 68-45 defeat at the hands of Rio Grande.
Despite the loss, Capital had strong showings from Annica Montoya, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, and Miranda Larranaga, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Albuquerque didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Santa Fe on Wednesday, but they still walked away with a 38-33 victory.
Capital has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Albuquerque, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Capital was taken down by Albuquerque 66-25 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Capital was down 34-12.
