After flying high against Denver West  last Friday, Kennedy came back down to earth. The Kennedy Commanders had to suffer through  an    85-18 loss at the hands of the Denver East Angels. The Commanders have struggled against the Angels recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

 Despite the  loss, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: freshman  Mercedes Gerry  posted eight  points. Gerry is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in each of the last six games she's  played.
 Denver East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Grace Hall, who  shot 53% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to six  steals and five  assists. The dominant performance also gave  Hall a new career-high in  blocks (three). Another player making a difference was  Evelina Otto, who  dropped  a double-double with 15  points and 14  rebounds.
Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Denver East, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record  this season.
 Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  game,  a  54-31  loss against George Washington on the 20th. As for Denver East, they have also  already played their next contest,  a  73-31  win against Vista PEAK Prep on the 20th.
