After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Middle Tennessee Christian, the Columbia Academy Bulldogs were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over Grace Christian Academy. The win was all the more spectacular given Columbia Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Grace Christian Academy is ranked 79th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Haley Collins, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Shirley, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Columbia Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Grace Christian Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-3.
Columbia Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin Road Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Grace Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Providence Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
