The Bishop Canevin Crusaders waltzed into Friday's game with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Leechburg 49-6 on the road. Given Bishop Canevin's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Leechburg is ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Bishop Canevin to victory were Kole Olszewski and Marquis Carter. Olszewski threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, while Carter rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Jason Cross Jr also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Despite the loss, Leechburg still got an impressive performance from Jayden Floyd, who rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown.
Bishop Canevin's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Leechburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.
Bishop Canevin will look to defend their home field on Friday against California at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in California's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last eight matches. Leechburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
