Baseball Recap: Lapoynor Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

LaPoynor had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Cross Roads on Tuesday. The Flyers blew past the Bobcats 11-4. Considering the Flyers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

David Williams was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. LaPoynor is undefeated when Williams posts two or more runs, but 9-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Partridge, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact: LaPoynor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The Flyers are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was the third in a row for LaPoynor, bringing their record up to 12-11. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Cross Roads, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

LaPoynor will have a chance to go back-to-back against Cross Roads: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
