Volleyball Recap: Waskom's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Waskom lost against Overton back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Mustangs. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Waskom ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-27, 25-20, 25-18.

Kyleigh Miner paced Waskom's offense, picking up eight kills. Miner got some help from Summer Collins and her 14 assists. Payton Myers controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Waskom's loss dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Overton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Waskom will look to defend their home court on Friday against Trinity School of Texas at 4:30 p.m. As for Overton, they will head out to challenge Linden-Kildare at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
