Oakmont was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They were a single  set away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wheatland Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the  3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2024.
 Oakmont took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-23, 16-25, 25-18,  15-7.
 Samara Groudan paced Oakmont's offense, picking up 11 kills. Groudan got some help from  Elisabel Lumley Garcia and her 18 assists.  Carmella Calacal controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
  Addison Gaylord went supernova For Wheatland.,  getting 27  digs and six assists. Those  six  assists gave  Gaylord a new career-high.
Oakmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Wheatland, the  win was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.
 Oakmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-0  victory against Mira Loma on the 11th. As for Wheatland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  3-0  win against Marysville on the 11th.
