The Lausanne Collegiate Lynx's's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Davidson Academy Bears at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lausanne Collegiate walked away with it. They took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 41-13 victory over Battle Ground Academy. Given Lausanne Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Battle Ground Academy is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lausanne Collegiate can attribute much of their success to Tyler Wilson, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Marterius Boyd, who rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only six points in their last contest, Davidson Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against Chattanooga Christian on Friday. Davidson Academy was the clear victor by a 49-27 margin over Chattanooga Christian. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Davidson Academy just coasted through the last quarter.
Davidson Academy found their leader in underclassman Caden Stroud, who rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Zach Madar got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Lausanne Collegiate has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-1 record. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 9-1 Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering and 8-3 Northpoint Christian (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68.4% over those games). As for Davidson Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Lausanne Collegiate commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Davidson Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 per game.
