Basketball Recap: American Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

American Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 45-41 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wells Leopards.

When it comes to explaining why American Heritage Academy lost, don't look at Jacob Rodrigues. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. The match was Rodrigues' 11th in a row with at least ten points. Brandon Wirig was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, American Heritage Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

American Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wells, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.
