The Canyon View Falcons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Beaver Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th.
Last Saturday, Canyon View took a serious blow against Kanab, falling 70-33. While losing is never fun, Canyon View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Kanab is ranked second).
Despite their loss, Canyon View saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Maylee Spencer, who scored 7 points along with 5 steals, was perhaps the best of all. Spencer is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Bethanee Vargas was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Beaver waltzed into Tuesday's match with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past American Heritage 76-37 on the road.
Their wins bumped Canyon View to 2-2 and Kanab to 5-0.
Canyon View came out on top in a nail-biter against Beaver when the teams last played back in November of 2022, sneaking past 46-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon View since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
