Baseball Game Preview: Ravenscroft Ravens vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers

For the second straight game, Ravenscroft will face off against Durham Academy. The Ravens will challenge the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ravenscroft will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Ravenscroft barely beat Durham Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Ravens never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. Will Eichler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Ravenscroft's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Ravenscroft let Matt Ulicny and Matthew Madewell run wild. Ulicny went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Madewell went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
