Even though Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 65 points on Saturday, the New Hope Leadership Academy Gladiators still came out on top. New Hope Leadership Academy walked away with a 73-65 victory over Varsity Opponent. That result was just more of the same for these two, as New Hope Leadership Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Sugar Eaton, who scored 55 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was BJ Perkins, who scored 11 points.
The victory got New Hope Leadership Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Varsity Opponent, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 247-929-2.
New Hope Leadership Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Anderson C at 7:00 p.m. Varsity Opponent won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Newman AAA at 2:45 p.m. on January 14th.
