If the Brighton Bengals were feeling good off their 69-44 takedown of the West Panthers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Brighton lost to Olympus on the road by a decisive 85-70 margin on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (69), Brighton still had to take the loss.
Several Bengals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaxon Soto, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Soto hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Nash Matheson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Olympus, they pushed their record up to 17-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Alta the next time they take the court. Olympus will host Alta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Brighton will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
