West has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the East Bakersfield Blades at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
West fell victim to Tehachapi's stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 7-0 walloping at the hands of the Warriors. West has not had much luck with Tehachapi recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, East Bakersfield kept a clean sheet against West on Monday. They blew past the Vikings 3-0. The victory was just what East Bakersfield needed coming off of a 4-0 defeat in their prior match.
They hit West with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Scarlett Celio-Mora,
Katie Sanders, and
Griselda Espinoza Marquez.
West dropped their record down to 3-15-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those four games. As for East Bakersfield, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9-3.
West might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from East Bakersfield when the teams last played on Monday. Can West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
