St. Bonaventure's loss came despite strong showings from Dylan Benner and Jeremy Goodcase. Benner scored 25 points along with seven rebounds, while Goodcase scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Benner's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sam Seiden, who scored two points along with nine assists.
St. Bonaventure's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Westlake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
St. Bonaventure will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against St. Francis at 6:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Westlake won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Long Beach Poly at 8:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. One thing working in Long Beach Poly's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
