The Annapolis Area Christian Eagles couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost to Greenwood Mennonite at home by a decisive 35-16 margin on Friday.
Greenwood Mennonite had a senior duo take command as Faith Troyer dropped a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds and Laci Mast scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mast has scored at least 25% of Greenwood Mennonite's points.
Annapolis Area Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Greenwood Mennonite, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Annapolis Area Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount de Sales Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Greenwood Mennonite, they will be playing at home against King's Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
