The Chopticon Braves's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They wrapped up 2023 with a 78-60 victory over Central. The victory was just what Chopticon needed coming off of a 54-27 loss in their prior contest.
Chopticon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Pernell, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Pernell is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Brian McMahon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
The victory got Chopticon back to even at 3-3. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5-1.
Chopticon will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Fairmont Heights at 12:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Fairmont Heights is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crossland at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th.
