Venture Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Aspire Langston Hughes Academy with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Mustangs have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

David Mays was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Omarion Walker, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Venture Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Ben Holt College Prep Academy entered their matchup against Millennium on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bobcats fell 9-4 to the Falcons. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Uriah Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.
Venture Academy's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Venture Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Ben Holt College Prep Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
