Washington is 1-9 against North Pitt since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Last Tuesday, Washington was the victim of a rough 69-45 defeat at the hands of Greene Central. Washington has not had much luck with Greene Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, North Pitt stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perquimans 71-28 at home. Given North Pitt's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Perquimans is ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordan Speller and Zamareya Jones were among the main playmakers for North Pitt as the former dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten assists and the latter scored 32 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Speller hasn't dropped below two steals for 19 straight games. Another player making a difference was Zihanna Lightfoot, who scored three points along with 13 rebounds.
Washington's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for North Pitt, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.
