High school football: Highest-scoring games of the 2024 season

Over the past eight years, Maury (Norfolk, Va.) has transformed into one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation under head coach Dyrri McCain. The Commodores have scored 80 points or more six times over the past two seasons, including the highest 11-man, single-game point total nationally in 2024 with 97 in an October win.

Maury, who went on to win Virginia's Class 5 state championship, tops our look at the highest-scoring games of the 2024 high school football season. No 11-man team scored over 100 points but 11 scored at least 90 points.

The highest combined score of the season occurred in Louisiana where Delta Charter (Ferriday) prevailed over General Trass (Lake Providence) in a game that featured 22 touchdowns and 166 total points.

In 8-man football, Lordsburg (N.M.) had two of the 10 highest outputs of the season including the No. 1 scoring total of 98 points along with a 92-point performance.

In 6-man football, Valor Preparatory Academy (Waco, Texas) played in the top two highest scoring games with different outcomes. The Knights posted a 146-99 win over Holy Cross (Midland) but also lost to Faith Academy (Bellville) 148-112.
