The Martin County Tigers will take on the Bayside Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Martin County earned a 12-8 win over Vero Beach. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Brealyn White made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. White was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Martin County got a massive performance out of Ciana Vargas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits Vargas has posted since back in March of 2024. Maya Scotti was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
Martin County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vero Beach only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, Bayside never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Port St. Lucie with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by ten runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on LEAH ACKER, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was JORDYN MILO, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Martin County's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Bayside, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Everything went Martin County's way against Bayside when the teams last played back in March, as Martin County made off with a 20-3 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
