The Denair Coyotes and the Le Grand Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Denair barely beat Modesto Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Denair's pitchers stepped up to hand Modesto Christian an 8-0 shutout on Thursday.

03/20/25 @ Modesto Christian | 17 |
03/27/24 @ Delhi | 16 |
03/01/24 @ Johansen | 16 |
04/10/24 vs Orestimba | 14 |
03/11/25 vs Stone Ridge Christian | 12 |
Kaden Prine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 17 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Valente Rosales and Noah Lundquist did most of the damage at the plate: Rosales scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Lundquist scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Hart, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Le Grand got the win against Stone Ridge Christian on Thursday by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won three games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Like Denair, Le Grand also got a great game from a two-way player: Diego Martinez. Throwing, Martinez struck out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Fabian Meza pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Martinez scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Meza scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jose Manzo was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Erick Benavidez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Le Grand was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Le Grand's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Denair, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2-1.
