There's no place like home for the Ponte Vedra Sharks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They strolled past Bishop Kenny with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 68-49. The victory was just what Ponte Vedra needed coming off of a 72-52 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ponte Vedra to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Ritchie, who scored 19 points. The match was Ritchie's sixth in a row with at least ten points. David Sanchez Barrera was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Ponte Vedra pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Bishop Kenny, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Ponte Vedra will head out on the road to face off against Andrew Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Kenny and Beachside will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
