There's no place like home for Northridge Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They put the hurt on the East Valley Falcons with a sharp 23-3 victory on Thursday. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.
Alondra Laguna made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Northridge Academy got a massive performance out of Jessica Gonzalez, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alana Kramer, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1.
Northridge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
