After flying high against the Lewis County Panthers last Monday, the Collinwood Trojans came back down to earth. Collinwood was the victim of a tough 48-28 defeat at the hands of Loretto on Friday. While losing is never fun, Collinwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Loretto is ranked 13th).
Loretto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ally Weathers, who scored 19 points. The matchup was Weathers' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenny Clifton, who scored 12 points.
Collinwood's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Loretto, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Collinwood will head out on the road to face off against Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Loretto, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
