Crown Point has gone a perfect 10-0 against Chesterton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Crown Point will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Crown Point is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Lake Central 4-2. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Indians on their field since May 31, 2022.

Paige Liezert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Crown Point let Eva Govert and Lulu Johnston run wild. Govert went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Johnston went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Chesterton hadn't beaten Hobart on the road since May 23, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Brickies with a sharp 16-6 win. Considering the Trojans have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Lexi Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Oliva Milton, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Chesterton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .533. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
The victory was the third in a row for Chesterton, bringing their record up to 13-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Crown Point, their record now sits at 27-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Crown Point hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Chesterton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Crown Point's way against Chesterton when the teams last played on May 7th, as Crown Point made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
