Lafayette was handed a heart-breaking two-run  loss in their last  match, but they sure didn't let that happen against West Point  on Tuesday. The Commodores' pitcher stepped up to hand the Green Wave  a   12-0 shutout. Considering the Commodores have won 17 games by more than six  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Mabry Eason made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Eason was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Caroline Kelley and  Jenny Dreher did most of the damage at the plate:  Kelley  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2, while  Dreher  went 1-for-3 with one  home run and two  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  Kelley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Avery Lewis, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Lafayette has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Lafayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Green Wave: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
