Everything went the Timberwolves' way against Capital on Wednesday as they made off with a 16-2 victory. Considering the Timberwolves have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

At the plate, Garrett Wagoner and Brody Spencer did most of the damage at the plate: Wagoner went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Spencer went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Spencer has posted over his last 13 contests. Another player making a difference was Gabe Chambers, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Spring Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .513 or higher in four consecutive games.
George Washington let Riverside stack five runs on them in the fourth inning on Tuesday but luckily George Washington prevailed anyway. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.
Spring Valley pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for George Washington, their win bumped their record up to 14-5.
Spring Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over George Washington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 12-7. Will the Timberwolves repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
