The Celebration Storm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-36 walloping at the hands of Cypress Creek. Celebration was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-12.
Celebration lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jedaiah Sankitts, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals. Nicholas Edouard was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Celebration struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cypress Creek racked up 14 assists.
Ethan Nolan was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Elijah Torres, who scored 11 points.
Celebration bumped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cypress Creek, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Celebration won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Harmony presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Celebration in Florida (Harmony is ranked 85th, while Celebration is ranked 658th). As for Cypress Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. Osceola knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully Cypress Creek likes a good challenge.
