Landon Johnson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nate Evans, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Evans has become a key player for Midland Valley: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-11-1 otherwise. Turner Scott was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Midland Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carlisle County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Western Hills by a score of 5-1 on Monday.
Maylon Hafford looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.
At the plate, Koltyn Perez was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Caysen Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Midland Valley's record is now 3-12-1. As for Carlisle County, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
