The Box Elder Bees were the 73-60 winner over the Viewmont Vikings when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Box Elder took a hard 63-47 fall against the Vikings on Friday. Box Elder's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Box Elder still got an impressive performance from Elijah Kersey, who scored 25 points along with two steals and two blocks. Kersey hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Isaacson, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Viewmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Preston Weaver, who scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Weaver grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Max Draper, who scored six points along with six assists and three steals.
Box Elder's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Viewmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season.
Box Elder will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northridge has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 450 points over their last seven matches. As for Viewmont, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Woods Cross is ranked 89th, while the Vikings are ranked 73rd).
