After two games on the road, Edgewood is heading back home. They will take on the Kirtland Hornets at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Edgewood knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Kirtland likes a good challenge.
 On Tuesday, Edgewood was able to grind out a solid  victory over West Geauga, taking the game  10-6.
  Lucianna Paolillo made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned runs off   14  hits. Paolillo has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Paolillo was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Faith Vencill was  incredible,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and a  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  McKenna Vencill, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Kirtland was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight  loss. They lost  14-4 to Pymatuning Valley.
  Addison Fleming was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 3-for-3 with a  triple, a  run,  and a  double.  Maggie Kothera was another key contributor,  going 1-for-2 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 Edgewood has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 12 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record  this season. As for Kirtland, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.
 Wednesday's   match will be a test for both team's pitchers. Edgewood hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .398. However, it's not like Kirtland struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .317. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
