The Diman RVT Bengals will head out on the road to face off against the Bourne Canalmen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Diman RVT is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Diman RVT can now relate to. They took a serious blow against King Philip Regional on Friday, falling 41-0. While losing is never fun, Diman RVT can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 212th, while King Philip Regional is ranked second).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Bourne's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Cathedral/Matignon by a score of 30-28.
Diman RVT's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely King Philip Regional, Southeastern RVT, and Blue Hills RVT. As for Bourne, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Diman RVT came up short against Bourne in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 30-26. Can Diman RVT avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
