After flying high against the Two Roads Charter School Falcons  last Thursday, the Weldon Valley Warriors came back down to earth. Weldon Valley was beaten by Otis 55-14 on Tuesday. Weldon Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  30-6.
 When it comes to explaining why Weldon Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Ellie Koch. Despite the final result, she  scored two points along with six  rebounds and two  steals. Koch hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Weldon Valley  struggled to work together and  finished the game with only two  assists. They  were crushed by their opponents in that department as Otis  racked up 20  assists.
 Otis found their leader in underclassman  Aedyn Tribelhorn, who  scored 19 points along with eight  steals and six  assists. That's the first time this season that  Tribelhorn  scored 15 or more  points.  Alli Hornung was another key contributor,  scoring 12 points along with nine  rebounds and eight  assists.
 Weldon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Otis, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weldon Valley will  square off against Deer Trail at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Colorado (Deer Trail is ranked 258th, while Weldon Valley is ranked 246th). Otis will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Briggsdale at 5:30  p.m.  on January 26th. Briggsdale is coming into the  game hot, having won their last four games.
