The Sumter Christian Bears put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They snuck past Northside Christian School with a 54-50 win. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Sumter Christian has scored all season.
Aj Danzy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points. The matchup was Danzy's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Quayshawn While was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
When it comes to explaining why Northside Christian School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jeremiah Wilson. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. Wilson scored a full 48% of Northside Christian School's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Satterfield, who scored 13 points.
Sumter Christian pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Northside Christian School, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sumter Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Orangeburg Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Northside Christian School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Grace Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
