Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western Albemarle). Everything went their way against the Charlottesville Black Knights on Thursday as they made off with a 13-7 win. Jack Connelly made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Western Albemarle is undefeated when Connelly posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Parkins, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Miller, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
